Food...or something like it!

When was the last time you ate food fresh from your own garden? Or had a homemade meal with foods straight from nature? Chances are, you haven't had that in a while. Sad...very sad indeed.

Since when is the "food" we are barraged with in the grocery stores been known as food? I would imagine that food would actually taste good and be healthy at the same time. Food that beckons is food that is nutritionally deprived...food that "hums" is food that gives you life and gives you an "aliveness" that keeps you "humming". Beckons--things that you crave, such as pizza, candy, and other "junk" food. What do you think would keep you humming? I would think that food with names that you recognize might be a good start...come up with other criteria, and you may find out what "real" food looks like...

Aspartame Causes Cancer

Think that diet soft drink is healthy? Think again.

A favorite author wrote the following:

"A new study on aspartame conducted by the Ramazzini Foundation reveals that aspartame causes a dose-dependent increase in cancers (lymphomas, leukemias and breast cancers) when consumed at levels approaching those consumed by humans in diet soft drinks. Specifically, the study shows (reprinted from the abstract)":

a) a significant dose-related increase of malignant tumor-bearing animals in males, in particular in the group treated at 2000 ppm; b) a significant increase of the incidence in lymphomas/leukemias in males treated at 2000 ppm and a significant dose-related increase of the incidence of lymphomas/leukemias in females, in particular in the group treated at 2000 ppm; c) a significant dose-related increase of the incidence of mammary cancer in females, in particular in the group treated at 2000 ppm. Conclusions. The results of this carcinogenicity bioassay not only confirm, but also reinforce the first experimental demonstration of [aspartame's] multipotential carcinogenicity at a dose level close to the acceptable daily intake (ADI) for humans. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that when lifespan exposure to [aspartame] begins during fetal life, its carcinogenic effects are increased.

Sweet Treats--Sweet Diseases?

The nation is plagued with sugar, artificial sweeteners and colors. The nation is also plagued with diseases, such as diabetes and cancer. Chronic fatigue, stress, osteoporosis, among other things are also showing up in our nation as “diseases” that need to be treated with drugs, rather than a transformation of the food we are putting into our bodies. Diseases that are being brought on by the sugar and artificial sweeteners in our foods. Why are they such horrible ingredients? The following explanation shows why:

Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners

We all know that sugar is a major player in dental diseases, but did you know that it is also a major player in diabetes and obesity? Though the American Diabetes Association will not tell you this because of huge financial interests, sugar causes diabetes. It is not a contributor, nor is it a possibility that it may cause—it causes it, plain and simple. The type of diabetes I am talking about is Type 2, Adult Onset Diabetes, which comes on because people eat too much things with sugar, and/or other refined products, in them.

Why does it cause Diabetes? Well, for one thing—the human body was never designed to eat sugar, in its refined and processed form. The finished product you see in stores and in other foods does not occur naturally in nature, so why would it be healthy for us? It raises a body’s blood sugar too high, then “crashes” it too fast. This taxes your immune system, and after a while, you begin suffering from the various diseases you’re your immune system used to be able to fight off.

It is a simple carbohydrate that is not healthy for the human body. When the blood sugar goes too high and crashes too many times, a long list of health problem will arise, including diabetes. You know how when you eat a sugary dessert, you feel so energetic? Then, what happens 30 minutes later? You feel like you need a nap?

That’s the sugar—you want to “crash” and take a nap. Even if you do not experience diabetes right now, or the sugary crash, you may have experienced a lack of energy, mood swings, or even a false sense of euphoria. That is the effects of sugar.

I say this again, as it bears repeating: as humans, we were not designed to eat sugar. It’s like plugging a 120 volt machine into a 240 volt outlet—it will burn out too quickly, and will fry the circuits of that machine. Eventually, your body will burn out and will fry your circuits.

Other people have likened it to putting rocket fuel in your car—it will be fast and powerful, but it will ruin your car. Sugar is that rocket fuel, or that 240 volt outlet. Your immune system is simply not equipped to handle that much power, and yet—how many people are eating food with loads of sugar in it?

More to the point, how many people are eating foods they do not know has sugar in it? If you look at an ingredients list of, say, ketchup, you will find either sugar or high fructose corn syrup—or both! Why would ketchup need sugar in it? I do not know, but most people do not question this.

Most people have unknowingly created the reality that sugar is okay for them to eat, in moderation. This is why people have so much of a struggle with avoiding it—if it’s okay in moderation, shouldn’t it be fine in more quantities? Look again at the above explanation why sugar doesn’t work as a food additive.

As I’ve said before, when you eat refined foods, like sugar and sugar related products, it creates a strong craving for more refined foods. Therefore, the more you eat, the more you crave. Thus begins the cycle. You eat a little sweet, and you want more. Stop eating refined carbohydrates and you stop this cycle. Create a new reality in which sugar is not okay to eat, and you lose the struggle with sugar laden products.

About corn syrup: think it’s healthier because it’s from corn? Think again! It is a refined and processed carbohydrate that is just as toxic to your immune system as sugar is. Avoid this as well as sugar...

Artificial Sweeteners

Okay…so sugar is off the list. What about the artificial sweeteners? Much worse! Have you heard about the dangers of aspartame? You haven’t? Well, let me enlighten you: it will cause you to go blind, suffer convulsions, and have grand mal seizures. It will also induce headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, prostate cancer, and more. Aspartame, or its brand name, Nutrasweet, is in many diet sodas, sugar free foods, such as gum, pudding, cakes, etc. If it says, “sugar free”, then most likely, it contains aspartame.

Think Splenda is any better? Think again! The advertisement that says, “It’s made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar” is very misleading. Sucralose is a derivative of sugar, or sucrose, that’s true. But, what they don’t tell you is that they split the sucrose atom into a very different chemical—one that is just as harmful as Aspartame. So, Splenda is made from sugar, but it is a whole other harmful chemical altogether. It works the same as aspartame in your body. What an interesting twist of words, right?

Other types of artificial and refined sweeteners to watch out for are: Acesulfame K, Maltodextrin, Maltose, or any other –ose type words. These are all refined sweeteners, and are not healthy for the human body.

Lose Weight Now!

Sugar, as we all know, contributes to weight gain. But did you know that artificial sweeteners contribute to weight gain as well? A component in the sweeteners works with the body’s chemistry that trips the sensory system that, when working properly, signals that you are full, will suppress that system and increase cravings for more food. What are you supposed to do then? There is a weight loss system that helps you lose 9 pounds every 11 days. They show you why every single diet system doesn’t work, and why what you have been trying has been making you fatter. Click here for more information.
